Projects in Pillo

These are some of the projects I've worked on in Pillo Games as part of my work placement.

Interstate

As part of the development of Interstate I worked on mechanics and algorithms regarding endless runners and random based level generations. I also did the AI of the cars, each with their unique behavior making the game interesting and challenging. You can find the trailer for the game that I made underneath.

Smart Builders

In Smart Builders I was working entirely on my own starting from design to art/animations and ending with programming. I am personally really satisfied with the results that I manged to achieve with it.

Game Designs

Grandmasters Warfare
Math 'em

Those two characters are one of the 10 fully finished and designed waiting to be modeled and animated to join the game.

Kitchen Slamdown
Turn Based Strategy

Grand Masters is my very first project I ever worked on. It represents a big interesting extension of the normal game of chess that we know. Including different races and different unit types for each figure each with unique stats, passive and active abilities. This brings the billion possible moves available in a game of chess to a complete new level.

Kitchen Slamdown is a typical action moba game. The unique part in it is the cartoony art style and interesting characters represeting a lot of modern stereotypes for nations and food. It's more of a funny project I wanted to work on and test improve my programming skills working on 3D action games as well as trying out my modeling skills for simple cartoon characters.

Action MOBA
Puzzle Side Scroller

Math 'em is my latest game. I started it because I liked the idea of making a game with simple mechanics and interesting educational concept. It's beauty is once again the cartoony interesting art style combined with unique character designs for each character (number).

Blood Value
TCG + QTE

Blood Value is a very interesting idea I had for a trading card game that I wanted to work on. I wanted however to not follow the basic idea of a duel in a TCG and bring it to another level of action. The game has it's own story to go with it as well and the book that I'm writing also called "Blood Value" is based on it. The setting of the game and the book is in fantasy medieval realm. No magic or crazy things present there though. Everything is as close to possible realism as possible. Which I believe makes the idea interesting.

Hide n' Seek
Action Arena

Hide n' Seek is a top down 3D representation of the game hide and seek. It's can be explained as to one player "hunting" all the others while they are trying to hide until they can go to the "safe" spot and earn points. Various different power ups are available to pick up by both the hiders and the seeker which makes the game very interesting and fun to play with friends.

Mechys
Adventure Puzzle

Mechys is another 3D puzzle game that I've worked on to idealize. It has a post apocalyptic setting and various different levels which can be completed by adjusting the "bots" that you currently unlock/find and using their special functions to finish each level. Each bot can also be adjusted with different parts to adapt to each level. The idea for this game was to practice my programming skills as for being able to code each part of the robots and be able to move it from one to another.

Models Worked On

As part of my development as a game designer I wanted to undertake few challenges on working with 3D models and animation. I believe a good game designer should know all aspects of game development and should have a personal taste for each of them. Here are some of the models that gave me that taste.
